Looking for a new and exciting opportunity for 2023? Are you interested in giving back to your community? Would you like to expand your skill set, spend time amongst a fabulous team and provide exciting and invaluable opportunities to young people and adults with learning disabilities and additional needs?
Then becoming a regular volunteer at one of LB Mencap's weekly clubs might just be the thing for you! We are currently looking for new adult volunteers who can help to support our young people and adults each week, specifically at High 5s and Friends Within.
No experience necessary – although experience is very much welcome!
Develop new skills and add to your CV.
Commit to once a week, though flexibility is easy to work around if needed.
Reasonable expenses reimbursed.
The simple process we follow when recruiting new volunteers is:
1. You complete our application form and send it back to us.
2. You’ll be invited to an informal meeting with a group Leader.
3. Two references will be collected.
4. We’ll send you an acceptance letter.
5. You must complete the mandatory DBS check.
6. Start volunteering!
Upon joining us, part of your induction will include reading through some of our most important policies and you will be given the opportunity to take part in appropriate training, such as Safeguarding, Health & Safety and First Aid.
