SUNSHINE CLUB

Sunshine Club is a friendship and life-skill group for adults with learning disabilities delivered by Leighton Buzzard Mencap.

Many adults with learning disabilities have been isolated, and really had their confidence knocked over the Covid-19 pandemic.

We’ve supported members to re-ignite their sense of belonging again, by focusing on a variety of skills including healthy eating. During our weekly sessions a member is assigned the role of ‘cook’ and given the opportunity to cook from scratch, sharing their creations with the rest of the group.

We’re actively looking for volunteers to help us run our fun filled sessions, supporting members with skills and activities designed to improve their life and futures prospects. Gardening, ICT and yoga, are among the examples of ways Futures aims to facilitate the sessions.

Sunshine Club supports adults with learning disabilities, on Mondays 11.30am - 2.30pm.

If you would like to know more about our Futures, get in touch or email Sophie Lunn, Development Officer.
